Training

Health and Care Research Wales offers extensive training programme providing high-quality, needs-driven training delivered across Wales by a team of expert facilitators. They offer off the shelf and bespoke training courses which are free of charge to individuals taking part in research in Wales.

Samples

The Wales Cancer Bank (WCB) is a biobank that collects samples of tissue and blood from patients in Wales where cancer is a possible diagnosis. The samples are stored to form a biorepository to which researchers worldwide can apply for biosamples and/or data.

The Involving People Network brings together members of the public from across Wales who are interested in working with researchers to improve treatments and care. Members have a real impact on research carried out in Wales and have a wide range of interest areas from cancer, mental health and diabetes, to ageing and emergency care.

Cardiff University - Central Biotechnology Services

The Central Biotech Services are an ISO 9001:2015 certified not-for-profit Cardiff University technology facility providing access to life sciences research equipment and methodologies, with a focus on cell analysis/imaging, genomics/bioinformatics and proteins/diagnostics. They are part of the Clinical Innovation Hub Division of Cardiff University. Their team of scientific experts offers a comprehensive service including advice on experimental design, sample preparation, data generation and analysis. They also host companies and provide laboratory facilities, technological support, academic consultancy and access to other Cardiff University resources.

They welcome customers from Cardiff University, other academic institutions and industry.
