23 September, 1- 4pm, Zoom

Calling all cancer nurses and AHPs! We are hosting our annual All-Wales Allied Health Professional and Nurse (WAHPN) Cancer Research Network conference on 23 September, from 1-4pm.

The online event will focus on the future direction of cancer research in Wales and beyond, with a keynote presentation from physiotherapist Dr Gillian Prue at Queens University Belfast.

Gillian is a Reader in Chronic Illness, whose research focuses on cancer prevention, survival and reduction of cancer-related symptoms in both clinical and population-based research.

As a physiotherapist, she has an interest in ‘exercise as medicine’ and the role of physical activity in cancer prevention and survival. She is currently the Northern Ireland lead for the Movember-funded study on exercise and survival in advanced prostate cancer.

The event will also include tasters of research from across Wales, an update on public involvement, as well as a discussion of the silver linings of COVID. Although we can’t meet in person yet, there will be plenty of opportunities to forge new connections in our speed networking and break-out group sessions.

We welcome nurses and AHPs from all over Wales to join us. Whether you are well-versed in research or totally new to the field, we invite you to join our event and network, hear about best practice and meet like-minded professionals.

You can register for the event here. If you would like to receive updates and information from the Cancer Nurse and AHP Network, please join our mailing list.
